Volunteering at Tarner
Local volunteers are a valuable part of our team. Tarner has 22 staff and a dedicated team of volunteers.

Tarner Walking Bus
1 hour on weekdays from 3-4pm
Minimum 4 hours (4 x 1 hour sessions) per month
Minimum commitment of 3 months
Role specifics:
- Meet at Tarner at 3pm (99 Sussex Street, Brighton, BN2 9HS)
- Make sure to be dressed for the weather in walking shoes
- Accompany Tarner staff to collect children aged 4-11 years from St. Luke’s Primary School (Queen’s Park Rise, Brighton BN2 9ZF)
- Arrive at the school at 3.20pm and stay with children whilst Tarner staff organise collection from different classes
- Walk children to Tarner with Tarner staff and finish by 4pm.
Role Requirements:
- Physically fit for walking
- Local
- Enjoy working with children
- Responsible, reliable and safety conscious
- DBS check required for this role

Youth Project Volunteers
1 ½ hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays from 6.30 pm to 8 pm
Minimum 1 session per week
Minimum commitment 3 months
Role Specifics:
- Meet at Tarner (99 Sussex Street, Brighton, BN2 9HS) at 6.30pm
- Support Tarner staff in helping Children & Young People with various indoor and outdoor activities, eg crafts and sports.
Role Requirements:
- Enjoy working with Children & Young People
- Responsible, reliable and safety conscious
- DBS Check and references required for this role
